Sealed bids for the above Work located at 3595 Nostrand Avenue, Brooklyn, New York 11229 will be received by DASNY at its office located at 515 Broadway, Albany, NY 12207. Each bid must be identified, on the outside of the envelope, with the name and address of the bidder and designated a bid for the Project titled above. When a sealed bid is placed inside another delivery jacket, the bid delivery jacket must be clearly marked on the outside“BID ENCLOSED” and “ATTENTION: CONSTRUCTION CONTRACTS – DOMINICK DONADIO.” DASNY will not be responsible for receipt of bids which do not comply with these instructions.
Individuals and entities submitting bids in person or by private delivery services should allow sufficient time for processing through building security to assure that bids are received prior to the deadline for submitting bids. All individuals who plan to attend bid openings will be required to present government-issued picture identification to building security officials and obtain a visitors pass prior to attending the bid opening.
Only those bids in the hands of DASNY, available to be read at2:00 PM local time on April 15, 2020 will be considered. Bids shall be publicly opened and read aloud. Bid results can be viewed at DASNY’s website; http://www.dasny.org.

The Dormitory Authority State of New York ("DASNY") is Soliciting the services of a General Contractor for the Kings Bay YM-YWHA Project.
The Scope of work includes but not limited to:
Replacing the roof at the locations indicated in the contract drawings, replacing exterior doors at the gym, the installation of a new gas generator at the roof level with the associated steel support structure, associated plumbing and electrical work, and the construction of a new fire rated shaft wall to house the generator gas piping. The replacement of the existing lighting at the gym and exterior walkway. The installation of backwater valves on an existing sanitary main storm at the basement level.

The bidder or its principals must have completed five (5) contracts of relatively similar size, scope and complexity within the last five (5) years or demonstrated an increasing ability to successfully complete contracts of incrementally larger size and scope within the last five (5) years. The Contractor should be able to show references from Projects of similar scope and size. The contractor will also need to provide staging and safety implementation plans. Further qualifications, bonding, and insurance requirements, are stated in the contract documents
The Contractor shall have a minimum of 10 years successful experience in the work described above. The contractor must also provide a list showing a minimum of five (5) successfully completed projects similar in dollar amount, and complexity within the last ten (10) years.
