Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced more than $121 million in green bonds will support projects at Cornell University. The bonds were issued through the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York. Green bonds provide investors with the opportunity to directly support projects identified as environmentally sustainable. The bonds were rated AA by Standard and Poor's and Aa1 by Moody's.
Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced the completion of a $16 million project to renovate Tower Three at SUNY Buffalo State College. This project is part of roughly $73 million in capital renovation projects the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York is completing on SUNY campuses statewide. The project was financed through DASNY's SUNY Dormitory Facilities Program, which issues low-cost, tax-exempt bonds supported by student residence hall fees.
At today's Labor Day Parade in New York City, Governor Andrew M. Cuomo announced he will advance legislation to make the "New York Buy American" Act permanent. The "Buy American" law requires all structural steel and structural iron used in all state road and bridge construction projects with contracts worth more than $1 million to be made in America. The current law is set to expire April 2020, and making this law permanent will build on the State's commitment to investing in New York's infrastructure and workforce, while guaranteeing protection and dignity for workers.

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced that the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York has issued approximately $482.4 million in low-cost, tax-exempt bonds on behalf of 54 school districts across the state as school districts prepare to welcome students back to school. The issuance is part of DASNY's School Districts Revenue Bond Financing Program, which provides public school districts across the state with an efficient financing alternative. Projects benefitting from the issuance include but are not limited to: fire, security, and air quality systems upgrades; interior and exterior renovations at numerous facilities including several classroom additions; athletic field improvements; and technology updates to promote innovation and collaboration.
Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced $187 million in funding to support 25 statewide projects that will protect and transform New York State's health care system. This funding from the Statewide Health Care Facility Transformation Program will improve patient care through the development of high-quality medical facilities and programs serving the inpatient, primary care, mental health, substance use disorder and long-term care needs of communities throughout the State.
Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced $21.3 million in grants for capital projects at 35 colleges and universities across New York. The funding comes from the Higher Education Capital Matching Grant Program and is awarded by the HECap Board, which provides matching grants to private, not-for-profit colleges and universities for projects that create construction jobs and drive investment in communities across the state.
Governor Cuomo today signed into law S.6575/A.8414, which reauthorizes the Minority and Women Owned Business Enterprises (MWBE) program for five more years to ensure ongoing and meaningful participation of MWBEs in contracted State projects. The reauthorization of the law includes enhancements that will enable even more MWBEs to participate in and benefit from the program.
