DASNY President Robert Rodriguez Tours Dutchess Community College Campus to Review Ongoing and Future Projects

ALBANY, NY – DASNY President and CEO Robert J. Rodriguez and Dutchess Community College (DCC) President Dr. Peter Grant Jordan toured the DCC’S Poughkeepsie campus today to review completed projects and explore future collaborations to enhance the student experience.

DASNY, the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York, has provided DCC with purchasing and interior design services since 2014, enhancing campus spaces to better serve its more than 7,000 students.

"Educational institutions like Dutchess Community College are vital economic engines for their communities," said DASNY President and CEO Robert J. Rodriguez. "For over a decade, DASNY has supported DCC's vision through modernizing interior spaces and helping to create environments that foster better learning and stronger community connections. Today's tour showcases how targeted investments in campus facilities translate directly to enhanced educational experiences and better outcomes for students."

The tour included visits to several campus locations, including Bowne Hall, Dutchess Hall and Taconic Hall.

Since 2014, DASNY has completed numerous improvement projects at DCC's campus, including renovations to the President's Office Suite in Bowne Hall, improvements to the Center for Business Industry (CBI), bookstore, student lounge and theater in Dutchess Hall, and renovations to the lecture hall in Taconic Hall including furniture and building finishes. These investments reflect DASNY's ongoing commitment to enhancing educational facilities across New York State.

Additionally, DASNY and DCC leadership spoke of the college’s plans to align future campus development with strategic goals of expanding workforce-aligned programs, creating experiential learning opportunities and enhancing campus resources.

Dutchess Community College, situated on a 130-acre campus in Poughkeepsie, contributes more than $283 million annually to the local economy and supports over 3,500 jobs in Dutchess County, according to a recent independent study. The college offers more than 50 academic programs and maintains one of the lowest tuition rates of any college or university in New York State.
