Governor Kathy Hochul today announced the launch of the second round of the New York Statewide Investment in More Swimming (NY SWIMS) Initiative, making $53 million in capital grants available to municipalities and nonprofit organizations to expand access to safe swimming facilities across the state. At a time when extreme heat events are becoming more the norm, NY SWIMS provides competitive matching grants for the construction, renovation and improvement of swimming pools and natural swimming areas that will serve communities statewide. To date, NYSWIMS has awarded nearly $150M in capital grants to 37 projects across the state.

ALBANY, NY – The Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY) closed on the $7,470,000 Series 2025A bond issuance for the InterAgency Council Pooled Loan Program to finance facility improvements for five nonprofit organizations providing services to people with developmental disabilities and autism spectrum disorders across New York City.
Albany, NY – The Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY) has issued $150.3 million in Series 2025A bonds to fund construction and improvements at SUNY residence halls across the state and $221.3 million in Series 2025B bonds to achieve debt service savings through the refunding of prior bonds. The bond financing is part of SUNY’s regular funding cycle for student housing projects. SUNY primarily operates its dormitory facilities construction program on a cash flow borrowing basis.


Third Round of Veterans’ Nonprofit Capital Program Awards, With $1 Million State Investment To Fund Critical Infrastructure Improvements

Governor Kathy Hochul today announced $1 million in grants to 16 veterans organizations across New York State through the third round of the Veterans’ Nonprofit Capital Program. These grants will support capital improvements to facilities that serve the state's veterans, service members and their families.

Governor Kathy Hochul, New York City Mayor Eric Adams and New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) CEO Lisa Bova-Hiatt today announced the completion of 125 elevator replacements, 17 heating system upgrades, and 36 building facade renovations, benefitting 38,974 NYCHA residents at 24 developments across the five boroughs, made possible by $1.2 billion in funding that has been provided by the State of New York through the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY). Additionally, State capital funding is also supporting an additional 126 elevator replacements, 105 heating systems upgrades, and 29 building facade renovations all currently under construction, and an additional 172 elevator replacements and 59 building facade renovations in design and procurement. In total, these capital investments are expected to benefit nearly 123,000 residents across 75 developments. As part of the FY25 and FY26 budgets, Governor Hochul allocated an additional $365 million to NYCHA, bringing the total state capital funding allocation to $1.6 billion since 2019.
