Gerrard P. Bushell, Ph.D., President & CEO of the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY), announced today that New York University (NYU) issued $862.8 million in bonds through DASNY. The financing will be used in conjunction with previous financings to advance construction and renovation projects throughout the university system. The $862.8 million issued by DASNY on behalf of NYU was offered as $603.5 million in tax-exempt bonds and $259.3 million in taxable bonds.
The State University of New York announced today its partnership with the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York and New York State Energy Research and Development Authority to start its first zero-net carbo-ready retrofit project on a campus for SUNY Oneonta’s Ford Hall. The project will advance Governor Andrew M. Cuomo’s statewide clean energy goals of 100 percent carbon-free energy by 2040.

Empire State Development (ESD) today announced the completion of Marist College Steel Plant, a state-supported renovation and expansion of a former steel fabrication plant in Poughkeepsie, Dutchess County. The new facility will serve as a fine arts and fashion hub dedicated to business and career development. ESD provided $2.5 million in grants through the Mid-Hudson Regional Economic Development Council (MHREDC) and the project has also been awarded an additional $491,000 in funding from the Higher Education Capital Matching Grant Program (HeCap) board, which is administered by the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY). The project supports the success of New York’s holistic economic development strategy for revitalizing downtowns and reinforcing placemaking throughout the state.
Gerrard P. Bushell, Ph.D., President & CEO of the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY), announced today DASNY and The Arc New York (NYSARC, Inc.) closed on a $7.03 million transaction. This is the first transaction of a larger $20 million tax-exempt equipment lease authorization for The Arc New York to acquire adaptive equipment and specialized vehicles for individuals with disabilities, as well as finance information technology equipment upgrades.

The New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (NYS OASAS) today announced the opening of the Champlain Valley Family Center Recovery Campus, a new residential detox and rehabilitation facility in Clinton County. The site, in Schuyler Falls, will have 18 withdrawal and stabilization beds, also referred to as detox beds, and will also provide residential treatment. This opening is part of Governor Cuomo’s efforts to expand treatment and rehabilitation services in the North Country. The New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services contributed approximately $3.5 million in capital funding for this project, and is providing $720,000 in annual funding to support operation of the facility.
