SUNY Potsdam Finishes Nearly $800,000 in Upgrades

DASNY and SUNY team up for more than $800,000 in upgrades

ALBANY, N.Y. (September 7, 2017) -- Gerrard P. Bushell, President and CEO of DASNY, announced today more than $800,000 in upgrades have been completed at SUNY Potsdam. The work is part of approximately $30 million in upgrades to SUNY campuses throughout New York State completed by DASNY over the course of 90 days – ready in time for students to begin the fall semester.

At SUNY Potsdam, bathrooms were upgraded in Lehman Hall with new plumbing fixtures, electrical, tile throughout and shower stalls. The projects were financed through DASNY's SUNY Dormitory Facilities Program, which issues low-cost, tax-exempt bonds supported by student residence hall fees.

“Delivering projects with speed and efficiency is DASNY’s calling card and we are proud to have completed these upgrades at SUNY Potsdam on a tight schedule,” said DASNY President & CEO Gerrard P. Bushell. “Students returning this fall will find modern, supportive living environments that will help them develop into the next generation of leaders, making this work central to the growth of New York’s economy.”

SUNY Potsdam President Kristin Esterberg said, “I am grateful to the DASNY team for working seamlessly with SUNY Potsdam to upgrade our residence halls.  Ensuring that our students have a safe and comfortable living environment is a top priority for the campus. Projects like these allow our students to feel that Potsdam is their home away from home, which further improves their ability to focus on their academics. Ultimately, the $800,000 in upgrades is an investment in our students and their futures.”
