The College of Technology at Delhi Summer Construction Projects Completed By DASNY

Work Complements “Southern Tier Soaring” – Region’s Successful Upstate Revitalization Initiative to Grow the Economy and Create New Opportunities

ALBANY, N.Y. (September 6, 2017) -- Gerrard P. Bushell, President and CEO of DASNY, announced today $2.5 million in upgrades have been completed at the College of Technology at Delhi. The work is part of approximately $30 million in upgrades to SUNY campuses throughout New York State that was completed by DASNY over the course of 90 days – ready in time for students to begin the fall semester.

The DASNY-SUNY partnership complements “Southern Tier Soaring” – the region’s successful Upstate Revitalization Initiative plan to create new opportunities and grow a strong economy.

At the College of Technology at Delhi, $2.5 million in improvements included replacing the heating systems at Russell and Dubois halls, replacing the roof at Murphy Hall and installing a new exterior panel system at O’Connor Hall. Materials have also been purchased for the start of construction of a new kitchen at Dubois Hall.

The projects were financed through DASNY's SUNY Dormitory Facilities Program, which issues low-cost, tax-exempt bonds supported by student residence hall fees.

“Delivering projects with speed and efficiency is DASNY’s calling card and we are proud to have completed these upgrades at the College of Technology at Delhi on a tight schedule,” said DASNY President & CEO Gerrard P. Bushell. “Students returning this fall will find modern, supportive living environments that will help them develop into the next generation of leaders as we help the Southern Tier economy soar.”

SUNY Delhi President Michael R. Laliberte said, “Providing a safe, modern living environment is an important contributor to student success. We are committed to continually updating and modernizing our residence halls and DASNY financing helps make it happen.”

Enhancing educational infrastructure helps the Southern Tier Soaring economic development plan by strengthening the region’s ability to attract the best and brightest students to its colleges and universities. The Southern Tier’s plan centers on bringing talent and investment to create high-technology discoveries and entrepreneurship activities. The region was awarded $500 million through Governor Andrew Cuomo’s Upstate Revitalization Initiative to further its transformation and the success of the Governor’s Regional Economic Development Councils.
