State-Approved Cannabis Dispensary Opens on Upper West Side April 27

New Business Supported by the NY Social Equity Cannabis Investment Fund,
Headed by Justice-Impacted Licensee

Just a Little Higher, a New York State-licensed cannabis dispensary, opens for business at 8 a.m. Saturday, April 27, at 157 W 72 Street, in Manhattan.

Owned by Todd Halloway and Tymel Kornegay, the dispensary is supported by the New York Cannabis Social Equity Investment Fund, a Public-Private Fund created to provide opportunities for justice-involved individuals who have received a Conditional Adult-Use Retail Dispensary (CAURD) license from the State Office of Cannabis Management.

Todd Halloway and Tymel Kornegay are entrepreneurs and business partners who consider themselves family. Halloway finds his inspiration in his deep-seated commitment to giving back to the community, a commitment he has demonstrated through years of coaching youth basketball in his neighborhood. Kornegay’s inspiration comes from his family, especially his father, who he watched fight and overcome cancer. The partners worked closely to build Just a Little Higher, with the goal of creating a space that the community can be proud of on the Upper West Side.

They noted that the Fund helped them create an opportunity to succeed.

“The family working together during hard times helped us stay strong, and that will help us as we create a new space for the community,” Halloway said. “Just a little higher strives to bring a sophisticated and relaxing experience to its new location on the Upper West side.”

The dispensary will carry a full variety of products that are tested to emphasize public health and safety for adult use. Customers are able to place an order through the store’s website, https://justalittlehigher.com, where more information can be found about the store and its offerings.
