Financial
The Dormitory Authority is consistently among the top issuers of tax-exempt bonds in the country. As a conduit issuer, DASNY raises capital for customers' construction and improvement projects. Each customer makes debt service payments to DASNY over the life of the bond issue, and DASNY uses that money to make interest and principal payments to bond holders. Interest on most DASNY bonds is excluded from federal and New York State taxable income for most taxpayers.
