Board Elects Officers

NEWYORK – The Dormitory Authority Board met today and re-elected a slate of officers to work with Chair Gail H. Gordon.

Thomas H. O’Neill Jr. of Hamburg, Erie County, was re-elected Vice Chair. Dr. Jose A. Corvalan of Armonk, Westchester County, was chosen as Secretary.

The Board also passed a resolution acknowledging nearly four years of service Member George A. Kellner, who has chosen not to seek reappointment to the Board. Governor George E. Pataki in appointed Mr. Kellner to the Board in April 1999.

The Board approved a Resolution to Proceed with the development of financing documents for the North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System, an obligated group serving residents of Long Island and metropolitan New York. The institution is seeking to sell more than $80 million in tax-exempt bonds to support its capital program and refinance taxable debt. Dormitory Authority staff will prepare financing documents for Board approval at a future meeting. Once the Board has approved the documents, the bonds can be offered for sale.

The Board’s next meeting will be at 9:30 a.m. May 28th in the Authority’s corporate headquarters at 515 Broadway.
