Wall of Prayers Remembered on 9/11
Staff of the Dormitory Authority joined millions of New Yorkers statewide in observing the one-year anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center. In this photograph by Authority Field Representative Doug Como, construction workers at the Bellevue Hospital modernization project paused for a moment of silence on September 11th after draping a flag from the steel framework. One year ago, families and friends of victims covered the sites construction fence with pictures of their loved ones, along with floral tributes and writings. The fence came to be known as the Wall of Prayers and has since been donated to the Museum of the City of New York.
