Bond Sales Approved for DYouville College, RESCUE Program
NEW YORK - The Dormitory Authority Board met today at its offices at One Penn Plaza and approved the following bond issues:
DYouville College. The Board approved a bond issue of up to $11 million for the construction of a new academic Center at DYouville College, an independent four-year college located in Buffalo. The College offers liberal arts and professional degrees in its undergraduate, graduate and continuing education programs. Established in 1908, the College maintains its affiliation with the Grey Nuns of the Sacred Heart, a Roman Catholic order founded in 1737 in Montreal, Canada. The 25-year, fixed-rate tax-exempt bonds will be sold in a negotiated sale with George K. Baum & Co. as the senior manager.
RESCUE (Rebuilding Schools to Uphold Education). The Board approved a bond issue of no more than 10 years and up to $80 million in fixed-rate, tax-exempt bonds to be sold through a negotiated sale. RESCUE was established in 1998 to provide grants to qualifying public school systems throughout the State for capital projects. The State Education Department certifies eligible school districts and projects. Project funding is advanced from the State Capital Projects Fund, and the Dormitory Authority issues bonds to reimburse the Fund and provide long-term financing for the projects supported by RESCUE grants. Salomon Smith Barney will be the senior manager for the bond issue.
The Dormitory Authority Board is scheduled to meet at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 28, at the Authoritys corporate headquarters at 515 Broadway, Albany, N.Y.
