New CSI Format

The Dormitory Authority of the State of New York will be transitioning its systems from the 1995 Construction Specifications Institute 16 division, Masterformat ™ numbering system to the 2004 Construction Specifications Institute 50 division, Masterformat ™ numbering system. Design professionals preparing specifications for the Authority will be required to use the 2004 Construction Specifications Institute 50 division, Masterformat ™ numbering system in accordance with the following timetable:

From July 1, 2006 until December 31, 2006 design professionals may use either format.
Starting January 1, 2007, only projects using the 2004 Construction Specifications Institute 50 division, Masterformat ™ numbering system will be accepted.

Note: This applies only to NEW projects received after January 1, 2007. If you have a project currently in design, that will go past the January 1, 2007 date, and the design professional has, or will have made a design submission prior to January 1, 2007, either format will be acceptable.
