Description / Requirements
The Dormitory Authority of the State of New York seeks Expressions of Interest (EOI's) from insurance companies and brokers interested in writing Blanket Crime Insurance for the 7/1/11-7/1/12 policy year. The current policy provides limits of $5,000,000 for each of the following coverages: employee dishonesty, forgery or alteration, money order and counterfeit currency, computer fraud, credit, debit or charge card forgery, on premises theft and in-transit theft. Experience with large public entities is preferred, but not required. Markets will be assigned to brokers and brokers are prohibited from approaching any markets unless given authorization by the Authority in writing.
Interested firms must submit seven (7) copies of an Expression of Interest to the contact noted below no later than 5:00 PM on April 19, 2011. EOI's received after this date will not be accepted. Expressions of Interest must include the following information: (1) A cover page that includes the firm's name, address, telephone number, fax number, email address and web site address, if applicable, along with the name, title, telephone number, fax number and email address of the individual within the firm who will be the Authority's primary contact concerning this submission (2) Your firm's choice of at least three markets (minimum rated A- by A. M. Best) listed in order of preference (3) Evidence that your firm is licensed to conduct business in the State of New York (4) Evidence of Errors & Omissions insurance coverage with minimum limits of $5,000,000 or evidence of the ability to secure such coverage if your firm is selected as the successful candidate.
Based on the information received, firms deemed qualified by review of their respective EOI will be short listed and issued a Request for Proposal (RFP). Incomplete submissions (i.e. those lacking any of the items specified above) may be rejected. Once selected the short listed firms will be posted on DASNY's website at www.dasny.org / Procurement / Professional Services / Opportunities / RFP Recipients (Short List).
In accordance with State Finance Law § 139-j and § 139-k, this solicitation includes and imposes certain restrictions on communications between Dormitory Authority personnel and an Offerer during the procurement process. Contacts made to other Dormitory Authority personnel regarding this procurement may disqualify the Offerer and affect future procurements with governmental entities in the State of New York. Please refer to the Authority's website (www.dasny.org) for Authority policy and procedures regarding this law, or the OGS website (www.ogs.state.ny.us/aboutogs/regulations/defaultAdvisoryCouncil html) for more information about this law. All proposers, domestic and foreign, must be in compliance with New York State business registration requirements. Contact the NYS Department of State regarding compliance. In addition, business entities proposing to provide professional engineering services must obtain a Certificate of Authorization to Provide Engineering Services in New York State from the State Education Department. Proposals must be submitted in the full legal name of the proposer, or the full legal name plus a registered assumed name of the proposer, if any.
